New Book Spotlight
Already a member? Submit your new book here and we'll set it up.
A new perk for our members
We feature your new book (published in the last 3 years) on every bookshelf that matches its genre, topic, or age group, including the "new books," all-time best, and trending pages. With over 3,000 bookshelves on the site, that's a lot of places your book can show up.
This isn't massive exposure. It's a steady, year-long thank-you for keeping us independent: your book in front of the right readers, every time someone visits a matching bookshelf.
What it looks like
Here's how your book appears in a "new books" section of a matching bookshelf:

When a reader clicks your cover, they're taken to your Amazon listing. We also link to Bookshop.org under the dropdown arrow.
What counts as a new book?
Any book published in the last 3 years. We picked that timeframe after talking with readers, and it's what we use across all our "new book" pages.
Got a book series? You can feature any book in the series. But we strongly recommend featuring book #1 when you have a sequel out because most readers won't pick up book #2 in a series cold. But if you'd rather feature the latest, that is your call.
How long is my new book featured?
The New Book Spotlight Ad runs for as long as your membership is active. The number of books you can feature depends on your tier:
- $50 a year membership: feature 1 book for 12 months.
- $100 a year membership: feature 2 books for 24 months.
When that period ends, you can submit another book. You can also swap your featured books at any time. Just email forauthors@bookdna.com if you want to check on your New Book Spotlight or have questions.
Do you randomize the spots?
We randomize the order of featured books on each bookshelf, so every member gets a turn in the top positions.
